Welcome to Lucky Bug
Hi I’m Sophie Rambo, the Owner and manager of Lucky Bug Boarding. I grew up with horses all my life. My family farm was over 40 acres and we had 20 horses in the barn my whole life and 7 of them we owned including my childhood horse ladybug.
My father raised me on the back of a horse. Before I could walk I could ride and by the time I was 10 I was putting miles on green horses that he tuned up for me. One of my favorite horses freckles was born on our farm when I was 6 and my dad broke to ride and I trained from when she was around 6 and now she is a wonderful ranch horse.
When I was 14 my grandfather gave me his lesson program to head and I was writing curriculum for a program with 8 anxious riders and they all developed into very confident horseman who could go out and gallop in the fields and take their horses on trails. I taught those until I went to college at 18. I also trained another instructor to continue the lessons after I left and she is still teaching some lessons.
Once I was more settled in Columbus after college it was time to bring Ladybug with me and that was when the second half of this journey started!
I found myself now boarding in english barns and I started to dabble in an entirely new type of riding. I tried hunter jumpers for a long time but once I landed at a dressage community I fell in love. Western riding and especially cow work will always have my soul but dressage has stolen my heart. I go into every lesson with the idea how do I translate this feeling into western riding and traditions.
As you can tell I love horses and I always have. This way of life is in my blood. The promise I make to every horse that comes into my facility is they will be cared for as if they were my own horse.

Ladybug
Lead Lesson Pony
Ladybug is my 26 year old Quarter Horse. I got Ladybug when I was 3 years old and she was 3 years old. It is pretty crazy to get such a young kid such a young horse but she has always been the chillest most reliable horse imaginable. She is the name sake of the farm and she still loves teaching the little ones how to ride. -

Ringo
Step up Lesson Pony
Ringo is our 15 yearold intermediate level horse. He is my husbands horse and he is the most perfect boy who does his best in any situation. He is a bit more go than woah which is why he leads our intermediate program. -

Valentine
Confidence building Lesson Pony
Valentine came into my life when I was 9 at my family farm when my grandfather was looking for a new trail mount. She is now 17 and the best addition to the program. She is the perfect amount of go and woah and is the best for new adult riders to grow and experiment with their horsemanship.

Clara
Best Barn Cat
Clara is our resident fancy barn cat. She is 7 years old. She was dumped on the property and came to us in the coldest time in january in the first year of our barns life. She was so skittish she hid under a tool box for a month. As the years have gone on she has grown in confidence and trust for people. If you are slow and quiet she might let you pet her.

Chiquita
Tack Room Attendant
Chiquita is one of the banana cats. She is 1 year old. The banana cats came from a barn we get hay from and they have been the most crazy addition to the barn. As they leave kittenhood they have relaxed a bit but still get into shenanigans. Chiquita is slightly bigger than Carmin and her tail is straight. Chiquita enjoys sleeping around the tackroom and yelling at anyone for treats.

Carmin
Lead Hunter, Territory Manager, Roof Inspector
Carmin is one of the banana cats. She is 1 year old. The banana cats came from a barn we get hay from and they have been the most crazy addition to the barn. As they leave kittenhood they have relaxed a bit but still get into shenanigans. Carmin has a bend at the end of her tail and she is smaller and more demanding than her sister.

Carl
Lead freeloader
Carl is the personality hire of the barn. He is 2 years old. He is in the way, hungry, and looks confused constantly. If he thinks you are a person who might be able to fill up the bowls then he will try to snuggle. Other than that Carl is usually out and about or in the way.
